Some Thoughts on a Mysterious Universe. The State of Probabilistic Programming. For two weeks last July, I cocooned myself in a hotel in Portland, OR, living and breathing probabilistic programming as a student in the probabilistic programming summer school. Which did a terrific job of organizing the event.

I am a lecturer in philosophy at the University of Southampton. UK I work primarily on metaphysics, but I also have interests in philosophy of language, epistemology, and philosophy of science. Thanks to a generous grant from Riksbankens Jubileumsfond, for 3 years from June 2017 I will be spending most of my time working on the project Metaphysical Explanation.
